I received a copy of this book from the author n return for taking part in her book tour, and an honest review.

I really enjoy Kiru's books, and this one was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next installment.

Keeping Secrets is literally about that, keeping secrets. We see a few secrets around in the story, Felix and Ebony both having their own, and a mystery going on in the background too in regards to phone call Ebony receives. We find out about all the secrets, but the mystery surrounding the phone call still remains somewhat secret, and hopefully will continue on in the next book.

I wasn't sure about Felix's character at first, certain things just got me, but then when you think about it, he has lost his memory, and can't remember his wife at all, so of course he will have issues trusting her. By the end of the book, I really liked Felix. And Ebony. Sweet girl, I really felt sorry for her when she talked about her family loss, you can tell her character is obviously a very loving family orientated lady.

Felix and Ebony's chemistry was amazing, Felix not being able to remember his wife at all, I thought would have put a massive downer on the book, but his insatiable lust for her was always there, and they had some good fun!!

Great book from Kiru, looking forward to number 2 in the series!

Top Ten Facts About The Main Characters

So many unanswered questions. They wouldn’t all be answered today.
“What are you doing here?” He’d ordered her to take the day off. So had his father.
“I know what you and Daddy said.” She looked away from him. “I met up with my friend for lunch and I enjoyed being pampered at the spa. But I’ve been here every day since you’ve been hospitalised and it felt strange not seeing you.”
“But the chair...you shouldn’t sleep in it.”
Shoulders rose and fell as she looked up at him through her long, dark lashes.
“When I arrived, you were asleep, so I decided to read. I didn’t realise I was so tired. I just drifted to sleep.” She bit her bottom lip, drawing his attention to it.
The need to kiss her overpowered him. On impulse, he settled a hand on her back, pulling her close. With the other, he lifted her chin and lowered his head to meet hers.
Muscles on her back tensed. He massaged her skin like he would a skittish horse before a game of polo. With gentle brushes, he swept his lips across hers. The sealed, luscious pair called him to mine their depths. Instead, he coaxed and stroked and traced them with his tongue from one end to the other, bidding his time.
He’d caught a glimpse of her banked passion yesterday when he asked about their wedding night. No matter what else went on, they desired each other. Mutual attraction.
With a low moan, she leaned in and opened for him.
As he slipped in, her sweet flavour exploded on his tongue. She tasted of peppermint and vanilla. In the recesses of his mind, the kiss registered. He’d done this before. Tasted her.
A groan rumbled within and he slid his hands around her waist and lifted her onto his lap so that she straddled him.
Whimpering, she rubbed against him, hips canting against hips, supple breasts crushed to his chest.
Needing intimate contact, he ran a palm over her side, skimming the swell of soft breasts down to the hem of her tunic. He lifted it, his hand making contact with smooth, warm skin. Another moan escaped her lips. He swallowed it, loving her sound and taste. Moving his hand up till it reached her breast, he caressed it through the lace of her bra, flicking the already taut nipple with his thumb.
In response, she ground against his bulge.
Sweet fuck!

***REVIEW*** Just What Kind of Mother Are You by Paula Daly

What if your best friend's child disappears? And it was all your fault.

This is exactly what happens to Lisa Kallisto, overwhelmed working mother of three, one freezing December in the English Lake District. She takes her eye off the ball for just a moment and her whole world descends into the stuff of nightmares. Because, not only is thirteen-year-old Lucinda missing, and not only is it all Lisa's fault, but she's the second teenage girl to disappear within this small tightknit community over two weeks. The first girl turned up stripped bare, dumped on a busy high street, after suffering from a terrifying ordeal.

Wracked with guilt over her mistake and after being publicly blamed by Lucinda's family, Lisa sets out to right the wrong. But as she begins peeling away the layers surrounding Lucinda's disappearance, Lisa learns that the small, posh, quiet town she lives in isn't what she thought it was, and her friends may not be who they appear, either.

I remember seeing a Goodreads friend add this to their list, and thought it looked quite interesting. I grabbed it on Kindle for £2 or so, and picked it up on Tuesday night. I think I read around 20% before falling asleep, then picked it up on Wednesday, and I must say I finished the rest of the book in one sitting!!! I could not put it down for even a minute.

The storyline grabbed me from the get go, I could never imagine losing a child, but this book was all about losing somebody else's child. Now can you imagine how you'd feel? You're looking after a friends child, but suddenly without you noticing, she's missing?  Now that is a good story to read.

I really liked Lisa, a mother of 3, works in an animal shelter, has a busy life. The guilt she felt when she realised Lucinda was supposed to be sleeping over and ended up missing, I thought the emotion jumped from the pages. The other characters were great too, I particularly liked Crazy Jackie and Joanne (the Detective), although I thought there was a lot of concentration on Joanne's breast problem, which in my opinion didn't need to be there, nothing to do with the story at all.

I liked the author note at the end. Paula Daly came up with the story for this book, after seeing a real story on Oprah about a lady who had a lot going on and forgot about her child she left in the car, sadly the child died. This lady received death threats, pretty nasty things were said. We all have a million things going on, and sometimes it is easy for things to slip your mind.

REVIEW

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for signing up to her book tour. And in return for an honest review of course :)

Night Fury is a short Novella, the first in the Night Fury Series. It didn't take me long to zoom my way through it. I was pulled in massively. After reading Belle Aurora's RAW a while back and aboslutly falling in lvoe with it, I was pretty excited to see that she had another book ciming out (although still a dark book, it has nothing to do with RAW), therefore I was eager to get my mits into it.

Night Fury is different from nything I've ever read before. Caterina (or Cat), is the main character in the story. Cat lives in a convent, with Father Bob, who has pretty much raised Cat since she was orphaned as a baby. There are others there, nuns too, but nobody see's what goes on behind the doors, and behind the masks of the nuns and father Bob.

There is love, and of course some brilliant sex, happiness, and of course some tears. What  a great start to a series, looking forward to the second installment.

Teaser
"I trail her down the dark, dimly-lit hall. The sounds of our footsteps echo through the narrow space. I’m walking towards my destiny. How poetic. We reach the end of the hall. Frankie clicks in her keypad code. More humming and buzzing, the steel door clicks opens and finally – finally – I’m home. I take the first step towards the rest of my life. And I do it wearing a shit-eating grin. This is exciting. I’m excited. My life will be thrown one-hundred-and-eighty degrees. From boring to extraordinary. I can’t wait. “Welcome back to Mirage.” Frankie utters as she starts her descent down the stairs to the ground floor." - Catarina, Night Fury
