Here's my story, which I wrote a while ago as part of Thurs Threads. It was in 2 parts, but I've mashed them together as they were part of the same storyline.

1960 – London

Katherine had been feeling so different lately, tired and heavy. She was sure she knew why. She didn't need a doctor to confirm it, she knew she was with child. Marcus would be thrilled. He'd always wanted lots of children, and now their dream was beginning.

Marcus was working on his car. Something made him top and look up. He couldn't see anyone, but he could sense them near, and the smell was unmistakable... another shifter was close by. He put down his tools, and crept around the garage. They had to be near, the smell was so strong. He turned the corner and felt a blow against the back of his head. He fell to the ground.

'Marcus, it's been so long. Where is my wife?' the man grinned.

'Greol you piece of shit, she's my wife now, not yours'.

Another blow rained down, this time knocking him unconscious. When he woke up he was chained to a wall, spread eagled so he couldn't move.

'Ah you're awake my friend' came Greol's voice. 'See the little gift I have brought you?'

Marcus looked up, and saw his wife, hanging from the opposite wall. She was covered in bruises, and there was huge pool of blood beneath her. Greol took his knife and cut a big incision into Katherine's stomach.

'What have you done?!', Marcus screamed. 'Leave her alone you deranged psychopath!'

'Hush now friend' came Greols reply. 'That wasn't really the worst of it'.

******

2010 - London

It had been over 50 years since that fateful day, but Marcus hadn't forgotten, and to him it still seemed like only days ago.

He sat in the shadows, his pocket knife carving a piece of wood, chipping away at it just to pass the time. When would he be here? Three hours had passed and nothing. Nothing? It was too quiet around here, something was definitely going on. Marcus quietly tiptoed backwards, and crouched. He felt himself changing into his other self, other being. It didn't hurt, but to someone watching, it would look like it did. His back arched, his nails grew, his fangs appeared, hair sprouted everywhere. He ripped through the clothes he had on, leaving them in shreds.

There was a noise to the left of him, the sound of a struggle, then something was thrown from the bushes and landed in a heap infront of him. 'Greol', Marcus whispered, when he realised the man he had been waiting for was here. 'It's been 50 years too long'. Another wolf jumped out from the bushes and stood over Greol's limp body, ready to attack.

'Leave it alone', Marcus grinned. 'This ones mine'.

If you like scary stories, there are some amazing horror writers out there, and one of my favourites is Stephen King. So I am giving away my unread paperback copy of Misery to one lucky commenter (sorry, but it is UK only). Just follow the instructions in the Rafflecopter below!

***REVIEW*** Under The Alphas Protection by Doris O'Connor

Under The Alpha's Protection by Doris O'Connor

Nikita Ashton and Raoul Saint Germain have been friends for five years, so when Nikita is attacked, there is only one place she can run to—straight into Raoul's arms.

Raoul is the Alpha of his pack and he is furious that the woman he loves has been harmed on his territory. Were it not for the fact that Nikita does not believe in anything even remotely paranormal, his wolf would have claimed her years ago.

Nikita is in need of tender, loving care, not his baser needs that are threatening to overtake him. However, when Nikita admits that she knows about his being in the lifestyle, the Dom in him cannot resist the challenge to make her his submissive.

Blissfully happy in their new Dom/sub relationship, everything changes when Nikita is kidnapped. Can Raoul get to her in time to save her life?

Be Warned: BDSM, spanking
I received a copy of this book for being part of the book tour for Doris. Here is my honest opinion on the book.
I really enjoyed this one, as I do with all of Doris' books. I loved that this story had a sweet, beautiful side, as well as a dark and dangerous side.
The connection between Nikita and Raoul is well written, and you can feel their tensions jumping out of the pages (well jumping out of my kindle anyway!). A wonderful couple they make, both knowing what they want and how they want it. The first sex scene with these two is really good, well written, with a little surprise thrown in too!

Awesome shifters make this story great (Doris shifters are always amazing), and with some dark twists and turns in the mix, a great back story comes with it.
Really good story, and I feel this could have a sequel  (fingers crossed!!) :D

Adult Excerpt:
"Drink, squirt."
Nikita didn't even think to argue, so enthralling was his deep voice, and she drank the cool liquid eagerly, until he took the water bottle away and his hot, firm lips touched hers. Her barely banked down arousal flared into an inferno again, and she moaned when he broke the kiss and licked along her jaw. His curiously rough tongue reminded her of her cat at home, and created exquisite friction along her sweat slicked skin.
"Get on the bed for me and lie down on your front." The whispered words into her ear galvanized her into action, and he murmured his approval.
"Good girl. I'm going to restrain you now, my sweet girl. Just your arms to start with, and then I'm going to fuck you."
She couldn’t stop her moan at those words, and he laughed, the sound so low and sexy, Nikita was sure she could come from listening to his voice alone. He ran a hand down her spine until he reached her butt, and then he scraped his nails along the tender flesh. The burn was pain and bliss all wrapped into one, and she jumped when he parted her ass cheeks.
He dropped a kiss on her anus and slipped a finger into her pussy causing her to pant, and her internal muscles pulled tight, and tried to draw the digit inside. Raoul laughed softly and slipped another finger into her desperately clenching cunt at the same time as his tongue pushed through the tight ring of her muscle that had never been breached before. Warmth spread through her as that tongue probed in tune with his fingers in her pussy. He took her right to the edge and then withdrew.
"Nooooo." The high-pitched wail leaving her mouth didn't sound like her voice at all. Raoul paid no heed to her whimpering. Instead he grasped one of her arms and pulled it upwards, and then there was the sound of Velcro and something soft and thick wrapped around her wrist.
He ran his finger underneath the restraint, and then his face appeared in her blurry vision. Unlike earlier when her mind had played tricks on her, this time round all she saw was Raoul in all his ruggedly handsome glory. Her mouth went dry at the sight of his bare chest. He must have somehow got undressed when she wasn't paying attention, too caught up in the myriad of sensations he'd already coaxed from her body.
If this was what kinky sex did, then Nikita couldn't understand why more people didn't embrace this lifestyle. Never in her life had she been this turned on. Raoul repeated the process to her other arm until she was tied and couldn't move.
"What's your safe word, squirt?"
"Red, but I don't need it. Please don't stop."
"Good girl."
The approval in his voice washed over her senses, and Nikita was close to tears, so overwhelmed was she by the intensity of the moment.
With her breasts squashed into the bed, her nipples chafed against the cover, and she bucked when he slid his hands under her and pinched each nipple in turn. With his naked chest pressed against her back, exerting pressure on the left-over soreness there, Nikita felt owned, and used, and she reveled in that feeling, as he rolled each hard nub between his fingertips and pulled. Darts of arousal shot through her body to her clit, and she couldn't help her breathless moan.
"Oh, that feels so good."
He kissed her shoulder and withdrew again. Tiny stings to her back made her gasp. Each sting was soothed by soft lips.
"Turn your head and look at us in the mirror. I want you to see me fuck you. I want you to see my cock plundering your sweet cunt, so that you'll know who owns you."
Instead of appalling her, those words excited her further, and she dutifully turned to look. Even though her vision was hazy she could see him towering over her, his body so big and dark compared to her, and every fiber of her being tensed when she caught the first glimpse of his cock. Thick and long, it rose from its thatch of dark hair, his heavy balls swinging underneath as he moved. Raoul took himself in hand and stroked his dick from head to root with slow measured moves that had her mewling anew.
"Beg me for my cock, girl. Tell me you want it. Tell me you're mine."
"Yes, anything, please. I need you …. I need your cock … Sir."
The tagged on address made him growl, and Nikita closed her eyes when he placed several cushions under her hips until her ass was elevated.
"So wet, so beautiful. Who owns this pussy, squirt?"
"You do, Sir."
"Damn fucking right, I do."
He slid the thick head of his erection through her pussy lips, and Nikita held her breath as his heat branded her. He repeated that process over and over until Nikita wanted to scream and her nerve endings were strung so tight, she could barely breathe. She yanked on her restraints, but it was useless. When he finally breached her hole it was with agonizing slowness that awakened every one of her vaginal nerves, and she grit her teeth at the sensation of being filled and stretched to capacity.
Author Bio:
Glutton for punishment would be a good description for Doris... at least that's what she hears on an almost daily basis when people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adult to toddler and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies, and one very understanding and supportive husband. Domestic goddess she is not.
There is always something better to do after all, like working on the latest manuscript and trying not to scare the locals even more than usual by talking out loud to the voices in her head. Her characters tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories told, and you will find Doris burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only time to get any peace and quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps.
She likes to spin sensual, sassy, and sexy tales involving alpha heroes to die for, and heroines who give as good as they get. From contemporary to paranormal, BDSM to F/F, and Ménage, haunting love stories are guaranteed.

INTERVIEW
1. Please tell us a little about yourself
First off, thanks bunches for hosting me, Dee
What can I say about lil old me? I'm a multi-published and dare I say it, bestselling Erotic Author of all things naughty. I still have to pinch myself at times, when I say that. To think that readers and publishers alike enjoy the imaginings of my murky mind is humbling and terrifying and awesome all rolled into one. After, all, this is just me, doing what I love.
When I'm not writing, I'm managing a busy household of eleven people, that is Hubby and myself and our brood of nine. The eldest has now left home, but that still leaves eight of them, plus two dogs, a cat, and four gerbils.

We live in the UK and Hubby/Sir and I recently celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. I write both contemporary and paranormal stories, which nearly always have at least BDSM elements in them—I can't think why….

*grins*

2. How did you come up with the idea for your book?
As so many of my stories this one started from a #TantalizingTuesdays Flash. From the minute I wrote that flash, I knew it needed expanding. An anthology submissions call gave me the kick up the proverbial to get it written, but I very quickly realized that there was too much story there to fit it into 10K anthology length, so I wrote a different story for that one, and made Under the Alpha's Protection a stand-alone.
Ironically readers tell me they didn't want the story to end, and I've had requests for a sequel, which I may or may not have to write. We shall see…

3. When did the characters first pop into your head?
I run a regular Friday feature on my Facebook page called Sexy Man Friday, and my hero Raoul announced himself then. I took one look at his picture and knew he was wolf shifter. Nikita popped into my head from the above flash. They were both very insistent to their story told once I started, and as per usual, it took on a life of its own.

4.Without giving away any spoilers, was the story always straight forward for you to write, or did it pop up any surprises along the way?
Hah, I'm a panster so there is no such thing as a straightforward story for me. My characters always surprise me, none more so than Raoul in this book. I knew this was a friends to lovers story, but I did not intend for it to be a BDSM story. However once I started writing Raoul made it very clear that he was a Dom.

Nikita too had a few surprises in store for both myself and Raoul. She turned out to be one of the strongest and most kick-ass heroines I've ever written.

5. Do you still find it easy to come up with different stories? You have a lot of books out now!
Coming up with the stories is never an issue. Finding the time to write them is another matter! My muse will typically bombard me with snippets of ideas all of the time. Some of those linger, others never get past the oh, I really must write that stage, and others box themselves to the front of the queue without any shame whatsoever until I'm forced to sit down and write them.

6.Where do you like to write?
In my office overlooking the Mediterranean sea, whilst sipping cocktails …

Oh, you mean in real life? I have a desk in the corner of my living room, but by far the most writing gets done on the settee, or my bed, when everyone else is asleep.

7. Do you read a lot?
Oh yes. I've been reading from the minute I learnt how to, and I dare say I'll be reading on my death bed. Reading is how I relax. I'm either reading or writing, lol, and I have a huge TBR pile, which I am adding to all the time!

8. Who are some of your favourite authors?
Too many to mention them all, but the immediate ones that spring to mind are, Tymber Dalton, Cherise Sinclair, Cooper McKenzie, Ann Mayburn, Jenika Snow, Tara Rose, Sandra Bunino, Hazel Gower, and many many more.

9. And last but not least, have you any words of wisdom for aspiring writers out there?
Write, read, and write some more. Find *your* voice and never, ever give up. If writing is in your blood, you won't be able to anyway.

Thanks for stopping by Doris :)

*** REVIEW *** The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry

The Gift of The Magi by O Henry

O. Henry's classic tale of love, sacrifice, and generosity.

I picked this short book up free on Kindle, as it was mentioned on Glee so I thought I'd check it out. I often check out books I've heard mentioned on TV shows etc lol.

Anyway, this was a nice little story. It's about a couple, who don't have a lot of money, but want to get each other something nice for Christmas. The couple both have one valuable thing each. Her's is her beautiful long hair, his is his grandfathers pocket watch. The story shows Della sell her long hair, in order to get some cash to buy her husband a gift she knows he will love.

The story turns into one of massive generoisty and love, and really makes you feel the love these two have for each other. A nice story for the run up to Christmas :D

Graham leaned in and wrapped his arms around Arie. She laid her head on his shoulder and sighed. ***REVIEW*** Secrets by Kiru Taye

Secrets (Passion Shields 2) by Kiru Taye

Her body is his to command, her heart his to win.

Selina Moss bared her body to her husband and allowed him to see her and touch her like no one else has ever done. When a member of the family visits, she realizes there is still so much about her husband she doesn't know.
Benjamin's remorse about his family history drives his actions. Selina is his present and he'll do whatever it takes to protect her from being contaminated by his past, including revealing the shame that burns his soul.
But for Selina, finding out about Benjamin's past means investing emotionally in a man who's only going to walk away once their temporary arrangement comes to an end. Is she ready to bare her heart to him along with the secrets of their past?

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review. Here goes :)

I read this over 2 days, it's not a long book, and would easily be read in one sitting. I read Passion Shields book 1 (Scars) a little while back and loved it, so I was really happy to read Secrets.

I love Benjamin and Selina, and their relationship is a different one. For starters, we see in book 1 that they marry, in return for Benjamin bringing Selina's brother to the UK to live. They have  wonderful Dom/Sub relationship, though Selina isn't actually sure whether she loves Benjamin, or whether he loves her.

Selina is a lovely character, a loving girl who has been hurt so much in the past, and is trying to work her way through her pain. Benjamin is a very caring soul, hard on the outside, soft on the inside.

In Secrets, we see more to their relationship. Some wonderful Dom/Sub scenes as always, but I felt they were more intimate and passionate this time. And a little lovers quarrel this time too! Will it work out for them? Especially when Benjamin's sister turns up out of the blue with some news?

Well I for on loved this, and am really looking forward to book 3!!

***Review*** Passenger by Billy Cowie

Passenger by Billy Cowie

When a scan reveals that Milan is carrying his twin sister inside him, his world is turned upside down- or inside out. His new-found sibling Roma is a nicotine addict, finds sex altogether to bumpy and believes there are only 147 people in the world. She has never seen the moon, never tasted her favorite wine. But as Milan begins to introduce her to the world outside, he discovers to his surprise how much she has to teach him in return.

I picked this book up for 24p in my local book stores sale bin. I have to say I totally judged this book by the cover, I didn't even read the blurb just really liked the cover so bought it (and lets face it, for 24p you pretty much can't go wrong). Once I read the blurb, I was rather intrigued.

I read this over 3 days (it's only a short under 200 pages), and it was rather good.

Milan starts hearing tapping, and it's always in the form of classical music. He starts to think he's mad, but when his back starts to ache, he sees a doctor. Turns out, his unborn twin is inside of him. A rare case of Fetus-in-fetu. Now this really made me want to finish the book.

On the front cover there is a quote from The Guardian, which says 'A sweet and touching love story', and I couldn't agree more. The love between Milan and Roma is a great one.

I have to say though, I did think the book was a little fast paced, you'll understand when you read it yourself. I thought the things Milan taught Roma all seemed to go a bit fast, she learnt things rally quickly,, which to me sometimes seemed to make the story a little unbelievable. Like sometimes Roma and Milan would have conversations, and I thought this all felt like Roma wouldn't have actually understood what was being said and wouldn't have been able to answer the way she did.

But, it was a touching story, and I'm glad I found it!

MY REVIEW

WARNING!!!! THERE COULD BE SPOILERS IN HERE SO IF YOU WANT TO READ THE BOOK (AND YOU DAMN WELL SHOULD!!!) PLEASE AVOID MY REVIEW. BUT OF COURSE COME BACK ONCE YOU HAVE READ THE BOOK :D

Alive (The Crave book 1) by Megan D Martin

I am so happy to be finally writing my review of this book :D Megan sent me a beta copy ages ago, before it was edited or sent to the publisher. I felt extremely privileged to be reading it before any one else got the chance!!

I was pulled into the book immediately. I remember feeling as though I didn't want to put it down, EVER! All of Megan's books have had me hooked from the get go, and this one was certainly no exception! I really felt like I knew the characters, and had a real need for survival for them, especially the main characters Gage and Eve. Megan's descriptions of the world around them was great, and it is exactly the way I would picture things to be if a Zombie Apocalypse came about (or when... we all know it's coming right?! ;p)

I don't want to blabber on too much as to give anything away, but please please get your hands on this book when it comes out in January 2014!!!

After reading the book, Megan sent me these questions to answer about what I thought of it.

Did you like Gage and Eve were they ever annoying or boring?
I liked both Eve and Gage. To be honest I found Eve annoying at parts, you know giving it to Gage but then shouting at him, wanting nothing to do with him. But when you read more of the book and see the upbringing she had, and the things that happened during the flashbacks, you start to understand why she's feeling the way she is. Gage was a good character. I liked the way he wanted to protect Eve, and he obviously loved her very much. I mean, risking his life to go back into that house full of lurkers, just because Eve wanted her bag? That's dedication for ya!

Was there any time during the book where you were bored? If so, where?
No, I was never bored at any point. The book had me totally dragged in! I sat and read the last 44% this morning so it obviously had me hooked!

Does the post-apocalyptic world make sense to you?
Does the post-apocalyptic world make sense to anyone?! I mean if it were to happen, then thats the way it would go isn't it. Some people would try to save a town, barricade the town in, and try to rebuild. Others would want to stay in their homes, try as much as they could but would eventually be killed. I suppose it has to make sense then doesn't it?

Is there anything that you think I should change?
NOTHING!!! Don't change a thing girl!!! Honestly, that's how I feel :D

How do you feel about the flashbacks and Olive's POV?
The flashbacks I really enjoyed. There were certain flashbacks that had me angry, sad and happy. The flashback with Eve going into the cafeteria after having sex with Gage, and him saying he didn't know who she was, well that just had my heart in bits! I liked reading the bits about Olive, and I was actually really sad to read the first part from Olives POV. That's when you learn Olive hates Eve (well not hate as you know they were told that was a sin, but doesn't like or love her), but again reading their upbringing makes you see that's the normal for her. The last part of the book made me feel sad though, the part with Olive. Its like I know Eve is going to go looking for her again, and now I feel like she won't find her.

Anything else you want to add?
Bloody good job Megz! Honestly this book had me hooked from the start! Oh, do you watch The Walking Dead? Eden reminded me of Woodbury :) I'm just glad there was no Governor there!!!
