As always I was extremely happy to receive one of Megans books in my inbox :) I read Filthy 2 not too long ago, and actually quite enjoyed it. In book 1 we seen Rhett find Faye an take her home for her mothers funeral. Well in book 2 we visit the funeral, and see Faye's reaction. We also find out what happened in her past to make her the way she is, and who it was that hurt her so bad.

Faye and Rhetts relationships grows a little, we even see a smile or two from both characters at some point! I liked book 2, it delves deeper into the theme of twisted relationships and families, but nothing too taboo that it makes you not want to read.  I actually quite like Faye, she has sass, but she has her demons, some bigger than others.

I'm looking forward to Filthy 2 coming out (soon I hear!!).

So we all know I love +Megan D. Martin  books, so I was pretty excited when I heard about this new novella series, and even more excited when my copy popped up in my inbox! It's a short book and was read in one sitting, just over an hour (I had to keep stopping for my kids lol). 

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this being such a short book, but seeing the first line read 'Fuck, take it you little slut', I was rather eager to read more! The book is about a young girl of 19, Faye, who ran away from home and ended up making her living on the streets. Her step brother finds her, 3 years later, and takes her home with bad news. Even though Faye doesn't want to be there, the attraction to Rhett is back with a vengeance and it seems she will do anything she can to get her step brother into bed!!!

Now I know this is a bit of a taboo subject, BUT.... they are not related! And to be fair, it's legal lol. Not my cup of tea but it made for a heck of a good story!

I quite liked Faye, she has sass! She seems to be very grown u for her age, well I suppose she has to be in her line of business. But there is something sad hidden away in her memories, I can tell. Hopefully more will be revealed i the next installment!!

Okay, so I totally devoured this book in one day! 'Loved it' doesn't even begin to describe how much I enjoyed this one. The chemistry between Cole and Julia is so strong you can almost feel it jump from the page! Cole, or 'The Ripper' as he is known, is quite a character. To be honest I wasn't sure how much I liked him at first, I didn't think he was good for Julia at all. But as the book goes on, I started to like him, then I really liked him! 

Julia is a girl who knows what she wants, and she knows how to get it. Or at least she thinks she knows what she wants until her first meeting with 'the Ripper' that it :)

Amazing book, great storyline, and some fabulous shocks thrown in there too!

Once in a while I do a great author post about an author I really like.

Today my great author is +Megan D. Martin

I met Megan online through my blog, and she has slowly crept into my life as a friend :D A very lovely person, although she can be a bit cooky sometimes lol! I have read some brilliant books through her recommendations, but have also been introduced to her amazing books too.

I was first introduced to Megan's stories when Megan emailed me asking me tor review her book 'Forbidden Angel'. I remember being really excited as I had never been asked by an author to review one of their books before. Forbidden Angel was brilliant. Megan again contacted me with a copy of her other story 'Soldier in Chains' which I jumped at.

Since then Megan has sent me copies of all of her books (which I am incredibly grateful for) and one in particular made me feel very special. Megan sent me a copy of Alive: The Crave book 1, well before it was even sent to the editor or publisher. I was so blummin chuffed and seriously loved the book.

Megan's stories have all pulled me in from the get go, and she is creeping up on my list of favourite authors ever!

Alive (The Crave book 1) by Megan D Martin

I am so happy to be finally writing my review of this book :D Megan sent me a beta copy ages ago, before it was edited or sent to the publisher. I felt extremely privileged to be reading it before any one else got the chance!!

I was pulled into the book immediately. I remember feeling as though I didn't want to put it down, EVER! All of Megan's books have had me hooked from the get go, and this one was certainly no exception! I really felt like I knew the characters, and had a real need for survival for them, especially the main characters Gage and Eve. Megan's descriptions of the world around them was great, and it is exactly the way I would picture things to be if a Zombie Apocalypse came about (or when... we all know it's coming right?! ;p)

I don't want to blabber on too much as to give anything away, but please please get your hands on this book when it comes out in January 2014!!!

After reading the book, Megan sent me these questions to answer about what I thought of it. 

Did you like Gage and Eve were they ever annoying or boring?

I liked both Eve and Gage. To be honest I found Eve annoying at parts, you know giving it to Gage but then shouting at him, wanting nothing to do with him. But when you read more of the book and see the upbringing she had, and the things that happened during the flashbacks, you start to understand why she's feeling the way she is. Gage was a good character. I liked the way he wanted to protect Eve, and he obviously loved her very much. I mean, risking his life to go back into that house full of lurkers, just because Eve wanted her bag? That's dedication for ya!

Was there any time during the book where you were bored? If so, where?

No, I was never bored at any point. The book had me totally dragged in! I sat and read the last 44% this morning so it obviously had me hooked!

Does the post-apocalyptic world make sense to you?

Does the post-apocalyptic world make sense to anyone?! I mean if it were to happen, then thats the way it would go isn't it. Some people would try to save a town, barricade the town in, and try to rebuild. Others would want to stay in their homes, try as much as they could but would eventually be killed. I suppose it has to make sense then doesn't it?

Is there anything that you think I should change?

NOTHING!!! Don't change a thing girl!!! Honestly, that's how I feel :D

How do you feel about the flashbacks and Olive's POV?

The flashbacks I really enjoyed. There were certain flashbacks that had me angry, sad and happy. The flashback with Eve going into the cafeteria after having sex with Gage, and him saying he didn't know who she was, well that just had my heart in bits! I liked reading the bits about Olive, and I was actually really sad to read the first part from Olives POV. That's when you learn Olive hates Eve (well not hate as you know they were told that was a sin, but doesn't like or love her), but again reading their upbringing makes you see that's the normal for her. The last part of the book made me feel sad though, the part with Olive. Its like I know Eve is going to go looking for her again, and now I feel like she won't find her.

Anything else you want to add?

Bloody good job Megz! Honestly this book had me hooked from the start! Oh, do you watch The Walking Dead? Eden reminded me of Woodbury :) I'm just glad there was no Governor there!!!

I absolutely adored this story! I couldn't put it down, and was a bit gutted when I had to stop reading as we had company!!! I also picked it straight up at 8am this morning the minute i opened my eyes as I was desperate to finish it!!

The characters in the story, Kiera and Cain, were brilliant. Really like able characters, and they have you rooting for them throughout. Shifters are my thing, therefore I was really excited to meet the were-tigers in this book. And they didn't disappoint! Megan described all the Immortals rally well. Sometimes stories with different 'beings' gets you a little confused, but Megan done a great job with her characters.

The pull between Cain and Kiera is amazing, will they end up together? Read the book and you will find out exactly what goes on!

The story is full of twists and turns, surprises and shocks, and it will keep you guessing right to the end!

A fabulous read from Megan, and I'm looking forward to reading more!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Sure thing! I was born and raised in rural North Texas where I cultivated my love for reading and writing romance at a young age. I am currently an undergraduate student working toward my BA in English. With an uncanny love for the paranormal I have more than one nerdy tattoo from some of the books I love. At any given time I can be found dressed up as Robin while my four year old son swings from the windmill to the roof as Batman, having long conversations with Gandeldore (the ceramic writing wizard that sits on her desk), and of course, preparing for the zombie apocalypse.

Neither of these book are a part of a series. Both are stand alone.

What made you come up with the idea for this story? (if you are giving away more than 1, you can either do this for all books you are giving away, or just choose one of them)

I came up with the story for Forbidden Angel one day while I was sitting in a college history class. The Holocaust has always been a very sad and intriguing part of history and I got to thinking about what it would have been like to have a relationship and romance between a Nazi Soldier and a Jewish woman. The complications of a romance under that pretense really intrigued me because of how forbidden it would be on both sides of the spectrum.

A short but damn sexy read! This story is full full full of sex, steaming hot sex!

Dorian is a woman who knows exactly what she wants, and knows just how to get it :) But then again, Rob is pretty much the same lol. I loved the teasing in this story, the dominance, the ties, the sex, the shower!..... it made this book amazing! Well, that and Megans great writing ;)

I don't want to give too much away so I'll end this now. But.....

Get out and get yourself a copy of this, its damn fantastic!
