From the minute Ronan Bernhard roars into Tina Snowdon’s sleepy village on his Harley, he inhabits her thoughts and dreams. The inked mountain rescue biker is a sex-on-legs hunk, and her knickers aren’t the only ones that melt in a flash at his wicked smile.

Ronan, however, keeps his distance and simply becomes another client of her cleaning firm, until the morning she turns up and finds his cottage trashed, and her life is turned upside down.

Bear Shifter Ronan recognises his mate the minute he scents her. Having her clean for him means he can watch over her from afar, because to claim her as his mate and sub is out of the question.

As the village protector he has responsibilities he can’t ignore—duties that will place Tina in grave danger—even if she were able to accept not only his bear, but also his darker desires. The morning she finds him injured, his bear takes over…

“You’re mine, Tina.” Ronan interrupted her and she squealed in alarm when he jumped up, rounded the breakfast bar and stood behind her. Ronan caged her in with his arms, and placed a hand each on the bar in front of her. With her back pressed into his chest, she had nowhere to go and a shudder went through her when he inhaled deeply against her neck. He indulged his bear by nibbling on her earlobe and he licked her fragrant skin right over her rapidly beating pulse point. Tina jumped and groaned, and her musk increased, making it incredibly difficult for Ronan to step away. Step away he did, however, and Tina drew a shuddering breath into her lungs.
He dropped back into the chair opposite her, took a long swig of his coffee, and winked at her.
Some of the tension went out of her frame.
“Why me?” she asked.
Ronan sobered and put his cup down slowly.
“Why not you, babe?” Her head came up sharply at that and she glared at him. Ronan put a hand out to placate her. “That didn’t come out right, forgive me. What I mean is who is to say why someone is attracted to anyone else. Why you can look at one person and know instantly she is the one for you, even though you know you can never have her.”
Tina fidgeted on her seat. She couldn’t quite bring herself to look at him, and he knew he had her there. Ronan had sensed her instant attraction to him the minute they’d met. It might have only been pure lust on her part, but wasn’t that how all great love affairs started?
“I guess it’s even more complicated for us shifters. We don’t really get a choice when our animal finds its mate. For us, that moment is it. There’ll never be another person we will care as deeply for, or will want to build a family with. Which is all hunky dory when the other person is a shifter too, because they’ll be as equally in thrall with you. Things get more complicated when you mix species.”
He watched her closely for her reaction, but apart from a slight widening of her eyes, there was none. Tina looked simply deep in thought, and his bear growled and started to pace.
The beast had enough of talking. He wanted Ronan to simply grab her and force the bond between them.
“What exactly are you?” she asked, and it was his turn to blink at the sudden change of topic. Tina finally looked up and there was a maelstrom of emotions chasing the clouds in her eyes. “Apart from a bear, I mean. What happened here last night, and who could have damaged you so badly? You shift into a freaking grizzly? What else is out there, that I should know about? And don’t tell me, it’s dealt with and I don’t have to worry, because I do. Worry that is. My heart near damn stopped when I turned up and saw the state of the house, and then found you looking like that.”
His smile grew the more she rambled on, the words tumbling out of her faster and faster, until she was forced to stop to take a breath.
“Good, breathe, woman. Any minute now you were going to turn blue from lack of oxygen, babe.”
She stuck her tongue out at him.
“Don’t call me—”
“Babe, I know. How about baby? Darling? Honey? Sweetie pie? Kitten?” His chest shook in silent laughter, as she got more and annoyed.
“This isn’t funny. What the fuck is wrong with calling me Tina. That is my name, after all.”
Ronan sobered and allowed more of his bear to show in his next words.
“And what is wrong with me wanting to call my woman by a special name, just for us. One she knows will mean, we’re in a scene, and being sassy will get her put over my knee, until her ass is lovely and red.”
Tina froze as though in shock, but it wasn’t disgust he sensed coming off her but excitement. His bear growled his approval, and Tina opened her mouth as though to say something. Nothing came out, however, bar her rapid breaths.
Ronan leant forward and tucked an errant strand of her hair back behind her ears. She’d left it loose and it fell down her shoulders in a silken mass of black that meant he wanted to bury his hands in it, and never let her go. Every minute he spent with her he fell further under her spell, and she still didn’t know everything about him.
“Cat got your tongue, Tina?” he asked, and pushed back to give her some space. This had to be her decision, after all, and he had coerced her enough. It was testament to her inner strength that she still sat there, and hadn’t run away screaming. He wouldn’t have blamed her if she had, and of course she might still do that. That thought made his bear try to gain the upper hand but Ronan was fully healed now, and in full control. He wouldn’t be rushed by anyone for something this important, inner animal or not.
Tina blinked and a wan smile kicked up her full mouth. Lips that he was suddenly desperate to taste. Again Ronan adjusted his cock and this time, Tina’s gaze dropped to the action. She licked her lips, whether unconscious move or by design, he couldn’t quite determine, but he reacted in Pavlov fashion anyhow.
“You keep looking at me like that, and I’ll be mighty tempted to spank that ass of yours right now.”

Blood rushed in her ears and she yanked at her restraints, but it was useless.
“Sir?” She hated the wobble in her voice, but where was he?
“I’m right here, babe. I can see you, and let me tell you, the sight of you bound and naked to do with as I please makes me so damn hard. I might have to jack off to make this last.”
Tina moaned at the mental images that brought to mind, and Ronan chuckled. The bed dipped again and he ran his hands up and down her arms and over her breasts. He rolled her nipples between his fingers and pulled. Tina gasped and arched her back into his touch. Every roll and pluck made her pussy clench, and she couldn’t help her moan of need.
“Yes, you like that, don’t you? Such sensitive nipples. I wonder what you will make of these.” Something cold touched her nipples, to be replaced by his mouth. Ronan suckled hard and then attached something to her hard peak. Tina went rigid when he tightened the tension.
“Sir, please, that hurts.”
He stopped whatever it was he was doing immediately and some of the pressure on her nipple eased.
“Color?”
“Yellow.” She squirmed to try and get away from the tight feeling around her nipple and he loosened it further, until she could breathe easily again.
“How about now, babe?”
It was on the tip of her tongue to cry yellow again, if not red, but actually there was no need. It felt strange, but it didn’t hurt anymore, and she took a deep breath and murmured, “Green, Sir.”
“Good girl.” The obvious approval in his deep voice sent waves of heated arousal across her skin. She would just about do anything to please him, she realized with a start.
His mouth closed around her other nipple and she squirmed anew as he suckled that nub until it felt hugely distended. Tina clenched her thighs together to relieve the ache in her pussy, and he blew across her nipple. It felt cold against her slick skin, and this time when he clamped whatever it was on that side, she welcomed the slight pinch. He adjusted it to just the right pressure and Tina slipped a little deeper into the sensations assaulting her.
“If only you could see yourself, babe. Those are nipple clamps, linked by a chain, and if I do this…” Something tugged at her nipples at the same time, and Tina arched her back and moaned. Oh lord, that felt way too good. Tiny shards of pain skittered from her nipples in an invisible line to her clit, and she panted her arousal.
Ronan’s chuckle sunk into her consciousness like molten chocolate, and his next words sent her on fire.
“You look so fucking sexy, babe. I’ve got my cock in my hand and I’m stroking it for you. My fingers are wet with my pre-cum. Here, taste what you do to me.”
He ran his fingers along the seam of her mouth, and Tina opened eagerly. His unique salty musk exploded on her taste buds, and she sucked the digits further into her mouth. Ronan groaned, the bed dipped, and she needed no encouragement to open her legs wide. Instead of taking her however like she expected him to do, something cold hit the inside of her thigh and she yelped in surprise. He withdrew his fingers and surprise turned into a moan when that thing started to vibrate and Ronan held it right over her clit. Pleasure surged and her hips bucked upward to get closer to those delicious vibrations. Her orgasm build in ever tighter circles, and just as she was about to fly off that cliff, the vibrations stopped.
Tina yanked at her restraints and swore.
“Fuck, noooooo, damn it.”
A swat to her thigh was her reward, and Ronan’s voice held an edge of steel.
“Such foul language from my girl. I think she needs something else to occupy that mouth.”
Before she could even grasp his intentions, the bed dipped next to her head, and he hooked his finger into her mouth to force it open. His scent enveloped her when he pushed his cock past her lips, and Tina eagerly opened wider.
Her scalp stung, as Ronan wrapped his hands into her hair and fucked her mouth. It took mere moments for his cock to pulse and for the first drops of his cum to hit the back of her throat.
Tina swallowed, but Ronan pulled out and the hot splashes of his seed hit her breasts instead. Ronan’s bear roared with so much intensity the bed shook, and Tina’s stomach clenched in need. Fire raced through her veins, and then Ronan kissed her with so much heated intensity it left her in no doubt of his feelings. He kissed a path along her jaw and down her neck, where he suckled the sensitive skin with enough force to leave a hickey.
“You look so fucking hot dripping in my cum. You’re mine, Tina, and I want everyone to know that.” The growled words sent her pussy into spasms, and when he clicked the vibrator back on, Tina screamed as her orgasm raced through her.

Glutton for punishment would be a good description for Doris... at least that's what she hears on an almost daily basis when people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adult to toddler and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies, and one very understanding and supportive husband. Domestic goddess she is not.

There is always something better to do after all, like working on the latest manuscript and trying not to scare the locals even more than usual by talking out loud to the voices in her head. Her characters tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories told, and you will find Doris burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only time to get any peace and quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps.

She likes to spin sensual, sassy, and sexy tales involving alpha heroes to die for, and heroines who give as good as they get. From contemporary to paranormal, BDSM to F/F, and Ménage, haunting love stories are guaranteed.

With one last twist of a filament of earth magic, I fused together the delicate seams of the quartz tube. Slumping forward, I braced my elbows on the table and rested my cheekbones on my palms, cupping my weary eyes in darkness. Six down, six finicky tubes to go. The specifications of this project taxed my substantial skills with quartz magic, which was the point. This project would launch my business and prove that even though I was only a mid-level earth elemental, my quartz skills were equal to or better than more powerful full-spectrum elementals. These fussy tubes would fund the down payment on the lease for the shop I coveted in the Pinnacle Pentagon Center. I could finally quit my demeaning job at Jones and Sons Quarry, be my own boss, and begin a career creating one-of-a-kind quartz masterpieces I could take pride in.
My entire future rested on these fragile vials, and they were due tomorrow at four.
Dull pain pounded my back muscles. Night had crept over the city while I worked, and my jerky movements as I stood and stretched were reflected in the semicircle of bay windows in front of my worktable. Purple smears of exhaustion beneath my green eyes were exaggerated in the dark windows, and my pale face floated above a dirt-smeared navy shirt. I checked the clock: almost midnight. Sixteen hours until my deadline, and eight of those would be taken up by my Jones and Sons workday. There was no time for a break. If anything, I needed to work faster.
Groaning, I redid my ponytail, tucking shorter wisps of strawberry blond hair behind my ears before giving my hard wooden chair the stink eye. Mentally chanting Pinnacle Pentagon to motivate myself, I reached for another seed crystal.
Frantic tapping shook the glass in the balcony door. I pulled the door open, knowing it was Kylie, my best friend and the tenant who shared my second-floor apartment balcony. “I really can’t talk. I need to finish—”
“Help! Help! They’ve got—”
Something small and hard slammed into my stomach. I staggered backward into my chair and crashed to the floor. A small boulder skipped across the wooden floor and smashed into the wall. I gaped at the open doorway, stunned.
“You’re a human!”
I shrieked. The voice came from inside my room. I twisted, scrambling onto my bed.
Against the wall, the rock moved.
Beautiful blue dumortierite quartz veined with green aventurine twisted into a winged panther no bigger than a house cat. A pissed-off, solid-stone, magical, winged house cat. A gargoyle—no, a baby gargoyle. A hatchling.
Her eyes glowed feverishly. Long polished blue claws gouged into the floor when she launched into the air. Her agile stone wings unfolded with a soft gritty sound.
I lurched backward across the bed until I pressed into the wall. The mattress shook when the hatchling pounced on the space I’d just vacated. Sharp claws bunched in my yellow bedspread. She raised her muzzle, mouth open, and sniffed the air.
I eased toward the foot of the bed, readying my escape into the hallway.
“It’s you! Your magic smells so good. I thought—”
My magic has a smell?
The gargoyle’s eyes darted to the open door, then back to me. She arched her stone back and hissed at me, the sound dying to a hair-raising growl. The tip of her stone tail slashed back and forth, gouging my wooden headboard.
“I need help.”
“My help?” Gargoyles—even baby gargoyles—didn’t interact with mid-level elementals like me, and they certainly didn’t ask for our help. “There’s a full-spectrum just—” I started to point up the street but froze when she snarled at me.
“No other humans! Before it’s too late.” The gargoyle’s words were smooth coming out of her rock throat, with just a hint of a lisp from her tongue working around enormous teeth.
I stared into her glowing blue eyes, seeing past the bared fangs and agitated movements, reading her fear for the first time. I reached for her, then pulled my hand back when she shied from me.
“Too late for what?”
“You can save him. Hurry!”
“Save him? Save who? If someone is hurt, I can send for a healer.” Where were this gargoyle’s parents?
“No. I need you.” Large blue eyes implored me. “Please!”
A thousand reasons I should find someone else to help the gargoyle crowded my mind, but the hatchling’s urgency was contagious. Someone was injured. I didn’t want to waste time arguing with her, but was I really the best choice? I could work earth, but healing usually took someone talented with all five elements.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to get—” someone stronger? I started to ask, but she cut me off with another sharp “Please!”
Gargoyles were creatures without guile, and this baby was obviously terrified for someone’s life. If she thought I could help, I had to try. I took a deep breath. “Okay. Let’s go.”

He will damn his soul to set hers free.

When workaholic high-flying career lawyer Tara Woji takes a well deserved break and meets up with old friends she doesn’t realise the danger lurking in the shadows for her. M’na is a chi, a gatekeeper whose duty is to protect the humans. Tara is his assignment. As the shadows deepen and darkness comes to claim her, he will do whatever it takes to protect her including doing the one thing that releases her powers – unbinding her heart.

Prologue

M'na lounged in the worn foam armchair, thighs apart, legs stretched out, right hand clutching a short tumbler of whisky. Lord of the Ring posters covered up blue paint peeling off the brick walls.
Ironic really, the first time he was going to have sex in a millennium and he'd chosen a demon with a love for fantasy movies, who lived in a part of the city that could've been Mordor.
Desperation flowed in his veins, making him feverish. Sweat dripped down his face. His t-shirt clung to his back, a second skin. He tightened his grip on the glass to stop his hand from shaking and lifted it to his lips.
The strong liquor burned his throat as he tossed the whole shot down. Thumped the glass back onto the small table and refilled it from the bottle.
One of the advantages, or disadvantages depending on how one chose to look at it, of being a super, alcohol had no effect in normal quantities.
But he liked the sting of whisky at the back of his throat and in his chest. It made him feel alive. Something he hadn't felt in a very long time.

Shame it couldn't numb the pain searing his soul, his constant companion.
