Please tell us a little about yourself
I’m an author of a paranormal/fantasy
trilogy called, Beyond the Eyes. I have a fascination with the
unknown. I think maybe it’s because when my parents were married,
they were the directors of the UFO Investigator’s League.
They not only took on extraterrestrial cases but paranormal activity
and Big Foot sightings as well.
I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, but now
live in rural North Dakota with my awesome husband and cat Church. We
love it here. Speaking of love, I love my fans. They rock. Right now
I’m writing two books at the same time. One is a spinoff novella
from the Beyond the Eyes trilogy. The other book will be a
fullout novel about one of the characters in this trilogy. This will
be a standalone novel, and I’m very excited about it. After I write
these two, I might write a fourth book in this trilogy. I have fans
asking me to continue it, which is great.
How did you come up with the idea for
your book?
I had loads of story ideas, but I
couldn’t pick one out. One day I shared my dilemma with my husband.
He then suggested to write something that would scare me. For the
record, this trilogy is not horror . . . it’s paranormal/fantasy.
However, what he said sparked the idea, and then it grew from there.
When did the characters first pop into
your head?
Some of them manifested in my head as I
was pondering over the story and plot. Tree, who is a favorite
character to many, came out of nowhere while I was writing the first
chapter.
Without giving away any spoilers, was
the story always straight forward for you to write, or did it pop up
any surprises along the way?
Oh, there were a
lot of delightful surprises along the way. I love it when that
happens. It’s so fun!
Where do you like to write?
At home in my computer room.
Do you read a lot?
Yes, as much as I can. I love to read.
Who are some of your favourite authors?
George Orwell, Anne Rice and JK
Rowling.
And last but not least, have you any
words of wisdom for aspiring writers out there?
I don’t know if I’d call it wisdom,
but I do have some advice. Write a story that you’re interested
in and passionate about. Don’t worry about what’s in vogue right
now, because the market changes a lot. If you don’t write a tale
that gives you that burning desire in your belly to tell it, then
you’re going to get bored, and you won’t finish it. You also need
to read a lot. Reading and writing helps you grow as an author. And
don’t give up! If this is what you really want to do, then do it.
Remember this . . . the more you write the better you become. When
you write your story, just write it. Don’t try to edit it, just get
it out. Ernest Hemmingway said the first draft of anything is shit.
He’s right. You’ll be able to polish your manuscript after it’s
written. So no worries. It’ll eventually be all good.

Paige’s personal life gets more complicated when Brayden arrives back in town and offers the equal partnership she desperately craves from Nathan.
