Book Blast: The Wolf on the Run by Jorja Lovett

The Wolf on the Run by Jorja Lovett
Book Two in the The Wild Irish Wolves series.

Short Blurb:
Alpha Rory is determined to protect his pack, including feisty Naomi. How can he get close when she's intent on facing her demons alone?

Long Blurb:
As a police officer and Alpha of the Olcan Hills' pack, being a protector is in Rory Blake's DNA.
When Naomi Duffy turned up heavily pregnant and alone, Rory's natural instinct was to look after her. However, her fierce need for independence over the years has ensured they've never been anything more than friends.
Naomi has spent too long trying to keep her daughter safe to jeopardise everything for a fling. But, when her past threatens to catch up with her, Rory is the only person she trusts with her life.
Thrown together, the couple finally succumb to their passion and it's all too easy to forget the danger lurking in the hills.
Do Rory and Naomi have a future together, or will secrets from the past tear them apart?

Excerpt:
Naomi came after Rory, pitting her stealthy grace against his sheer power. In his peripheral vision, he could see the wisps of her breath spiralling into the cold air as she forged ahead, determined to catch him. Rory snorted, sending his own white breath curling up into the atmosphere.
He led her over the hills, their claws making short work of carving up the cold, hard terrain. Naomi never lost ground. Even when he made a turn towards the woods on the boundary, she kept pace.
The chase awakened something deep inside him—that animal freedom with no responsibilities except the survival of himself and his pack. The spiky silhouettes of barren trees lined his path, like broad strokes of a black marker pen scratched against the silver sky.
He dodged in and out, never slowing, with Naomi always in pursuit. Occasionally, a pair of woodland eyes blinked at him from the darkness—a rabbit, a fox, observing their bizarre courtship.
Rory had no doubt the exhilaration of their illicit run would end in wild sex between him and Naomi. It was like a very enthusiastic bout of foreplay without actual touching.
They crunched through the leaf-littered forest floor until he tired of being the hunted. He looped back the way they came and stopped in a clearing. In all aspects of life he preferred to be the one doing the chasing, but at this moment in time he wanted nothing more than to be caught.
He shifted back into his naked, horny self. Naomi came to a skidding halt seconds later, scooting a bundle of leaves over his bare feet. “You can run, wolf lady, I'll give you that. Now can we go back to bed?”
She shifted back to stand beautifully naked before him. “Not until you say it.”
Say what?” He was hard as hell and ready for round two.
That I’m as good as you.” She gave him a flirty smile. One which said she was looking forward to the future rather than staring back at the past. The run had obviously done wonders for her too.
That was probably a fluke. I don’t think you could keep up with me on a normal day. You know, one where you haven’t seduced me on top of a car boot and made me carry you home first.” The play fighting wasn’t limited to their animal personas. Not when it proved such a turn on. Human or wolf, the scent of Naomi’s arousal would always draw him to her.
I didn’t hear you complaining at the time. But, if you’re tired, just say and we’ll call it a night.” She shrugged her shoulders, making her boobs jiggle enough to bring his erection to full strength once more.
He stepped forward and brushed her wild hair from her face. “I’ll never be too tired for you, Naomi. I’ll race you back. This time the winner stays on top.”
She grinned, eyes twinkling as bright as the stars. “You’re on.”
This was one race he intended to lose.

***REVIEW*** Skin Deep by Megan D Martin

Skin Deep by Megan D Martin

What would you do to have the body of your dreams?

Kiera hates being overweight and hides behind thick layers of clothing. One night, her friends present an opportunity that seems impossible to believe. With a single spell, she can have the thin physique she's always coveted.

But all magic comes with a price: no sex or she'll revert back to her old body. Kiera accepts the cost. It's not like she has men lined up at her door. Obeying this one tiny rule isn't difficult at all—until the night she meets Cain, a were-tiger and a soldier with the Eternal Forces.

When a slew of unexplained murders forces Kiera and Cain together, they'll have to face the horrors of their pasts. Will Kiera realize she is worth more than her outward appearance? Or will she make the wrong the choice and lose everything—including her life?

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review. Here goes!!

I absolutely adored this story! I couldn't put it down, and was a bit gutted when I had to stop reading as we had company!!! I also picked it straight up at 8am this morning the minute i opened my eyes as I was desperate to finish it!!

The characters in the story, Kiera and Cain, were brilliant. Really like able characters, and they have you rooting for them throughout. Shifters are my thing, therefore I was really excited to meet the were-tigers in this book. And they didn't disappoint! Megan described all the Immortals rally well. Sometimes stories with different 'beings' gets you a little confused, but Megan done a great job with her characters.

The pull between Cain and Kiera is amazing, will they end up together? Read the book and you will find out exactly what goes on!

The story is full of twists and turns, surprises and shocks, and it will keep you guessing right to the end!

A fabulous read from Megan, and I'm looking forward to reading more!

Book Tour! Azure by Chrystalla Thoma :D

Welcome to my stop on the book tour for Chrystalla Thoma's Azure!

Keep reading for an excerpt of the book.

The last sentence in the excerpt is 'Holy hells, was that a date?', which has me thinking about dates. Can you remember the first date you and your other half had? I can!

It was August 5th 2005, and he had finally asked me to go to the movies. I remember honestly thinking he wasn't going to turn up, so when I saw him waiting at the bus stop for me I was really chuffed. We bought our tickets for the movie (The Devils Rejects, cuz you know, you have to see a scary movie don't you!), then we went over to the pub for a drink before the movie started. I was so nervous!! I was 19, he was 20, and that was the first time we'd spent alone together, apart from meeting up for our cigarette breaks at work! He worked a few shops up from the one I worked in, so I tried to time my breaks when I saw him leave too! I know, stalker-ish right! Haha, we often joke that I stalked him lol! Anyway, the date went great, and despite our nervousness, we didn't actually see much of the movie ;p 8 years later and we're still together with 2 beautiful children, so I'm glad that first date went well!

Contains mature content. Ages 17+

Excerpt:

Kai marched up to her table and whipped out his notepad, not looking at her. He stared at it as if it held all the secrets in the universe. “Why aren’t your friends with you?”

His cold tone was like a slap. “Do I have to answer the question or will you get me something to drink anyway?”

He glanced up, brows arching, and swallowed hard. “I’m sorry. I was just... When I saw how far you swam...” He shook his head and lowered his gaze. “Never mind.”

Hell. He’d been really worried about her. The anger left her as fast as it had come. “Markus had a heatstroke. He’ll be fine. Kirsten is nursing him back to health.”

He nodded, a jerky movement. “What can I get you?”

“A lemonade, please.” She waited but he didn’t look up, only nodded again and turned to go. “So you’re Panos’ little cousin.”

He stopped, his broad back to her, muscles bunching across his shoulders. “What did he tell you?”

“That I should hook up with him because he’s a man and you’re still a boy.”

His stance relaxed and he shook his head. “He’s an idiot.”

She snorted. “He’s very funny.” Damn, she felt weird, talking to his back. And ass. His cute ass. “And he’s nice. Like you.”

“You don’t know me.”

“Sure I do. You help me. Look out for me. You seem nice.” And hot. And kinda sad.

He turned around, his pretty lips pressed tight. “Appearances can deceive.”

“Then yours is particularly deceptive.”

A smile flickered at the corners of his mouth and she took it as a good sign. “Look, I know appearances aren’t everything. That all that shines isn’t gold and all that.”

“Is that why you threw your gold ring into the sea? Was it a fake?”

She bit her lip and shook her head. The ring had come from a true place, a true feeling — only not hers. At least she thought so. “It’s a long story.” And she didn’t feel much like talking about Justin, especially to Kai.

He took a step toward her, his gaze intense. “I have to work.”

“Oh? Sorry I’m keeping you.” She glanced around at the other tables. Nobody seemed to be looking for a waiter. “You’d better go, then.”

“I finish my shift at four.”

Was that what she thought it sounded like? “So you wanna go for a coffee afterward?”

“Yeah, sure.” He tapped his pen on the notebook, head cocked to the side, his eyes gleaming. “I want to hear the story. Will you be here?”

“I’ll come back,” she promised and watched him go, biting her lip nervously.

Holy hells, was that a date?

Title: A Ranger’s Tale
Series: Tallenmere
Author: Mysti Parker
Genre: Paranormal, Fantasy, Romance
Publisher: Melange Books
Formats Available In: All eBook formats and Print
Release Date: January, 2011

Blurb
In the fantasy world of Tallenmere, an elven noblewoman longed to leave her gilded cage. A half-breed former pirate wanted nothing more than to escape his guilty past. Easier said than done...

High elf Caliphany Aranea leads an enviable life as King Leopold's niece and daughter of Sirius, Leogard's most famous wizard. Yet, being forced to follow in her father's footsteps and being betrothed to a man she doesn't even like makes her want a taste of life outside the city walls.

As a young boy, half-elf Galadin Trudeaux witnessed his parents' death at the hands of pirates. After being raised by those same murderers and forced to do their bidding, he escaped and now lives an honest life as a sea merchant and ranger.

When two brutes at Leogard Harbor attempt to kidnap Caliphany while she dreams of faraway lands, Galadin comes to her rescue. Impressed by his skills, she asks him to train her as a ranger. Though he is hesitant at first to train a woman of her class, Caliphany's hefty sack of gold finally persuades him. Unfortunately, her father is not amused, and the two must escape before Caliphany faces a forced marriage and Galadin faces a noose.

From that moment on she and Galadin embark on an adventure of a lifetime. Only if they can survive the trials ahead, will they find a love that stands the test of time.

Excerpt:

Caliphany lowered her hood and smoothed out her robes. She smiled. I admit I’d held a vague hope we would cross each other’s paths again, but I’d also told myself a woman of her class and a man of mine had no business being seen with one another.
Even though I didn’t know who she was exactly, the clothes she wore told me she didn’t mingle regularly with us working classes.

She tucked some hair behind her ear and blushed. “Captain Trudeaux.”

I bowed. “My lady.”

“Please don’t bow.” She avoided my gaze and clenched her robe. “You weren’t at the docks this morning. I thought you had gone.”

Razor had started tearing into the rabbit, so I held up my finger. “One moment, please.” I knelt to retrieve him and the carcass before it was gone.

Razor eyed Caliphany when I returned to her side. “I sent my men on to Faewood. They’ll be back by the week’s end. We had some Tilliyan coffee beans to deliver.”

Her shoulders slumped. “I’ve read a lot about Tilliya Island.” Her eyes focused somewhere in the distance, and then rested on me again. “So, you’re a falconer?”

“I’m a ranger. Razor accompanies me from time to time. We sell what we hunt and gather. Sometimes I help thin out wildlife. It’s just my job.”

The words rolled off her tongue. “A ranger.”

I nodded, a bit annoyed she found my profession so curious. I killed things for a living. It was a hard, dirty job, one I was sure she could never understand. I cleared my throat. “I’m glad to see you’re in one piece, though still unescorted. Would you like me to walk you back to Leogard?”

She held up a satchel. “I’m gathering plant specimens.”

“As you wish. Well, good day then. I’ve got work to do.” I began to walk away.

“Wait,” she said.

I turned, and Caliphany approached me, opened her mouth, shut it again, and finally spoke. “I wanted to thank you for rescuing me.”

If she was any other woman, from the lower end of society, I might have thought she was flirting. “You already did, I believe, and it’s not necessary. Good day.” I tried to walk away again.

“Wait.”

Razor screeched and puffed his feathers when I turned back around. “Easy, now. Look, Caliphany, it’s really not necessary—”

“I want you to train me.”

I stepped closer. She blushed. I wrinkled my brow and asked, “Pardon?”

The words tumbled from her mouth. “You know how to handle yourself, handle weapons. I want to learn that as well. Will you train me?”

I puffed out my cheeks and exhaled.

Should have known she wasn’t interested in me, just in what I could do for her. “I’m not sure what you think I am, my lady, but I’m no trainer. I’ve got work to do. Forgive me, but I can’t waste precious hours teaching you to handle a bow.”

She reached into her cloak and pulled out a sack. From the jingle inside, I estimated a month’s wages in gold. She got my attention.

“I’ll pay you. If this isn’t enough, I’ll pay more.”

That definitely got my attention. “My men will have to take up the slack. I’ve got orders to fill. But, why would you want to do…” I pulled out a bloody, limp rabbit carcass. “…this?”

“My reasons are personal. So, are you willing to train me or not?”

I scratched my chin. “When can you start?”

A smile flashed across her lips. “My father leaves for Mirrochet citadel in two days. He’ll be gone for a month. I can train with you every day for a few hours during that time. After that…” She frowned and turned her head, then met my eyes again. “After that, I don’t know. I can meet you at the ranger outpost just east of here. My family should not know about this.”

Desperation settled in her eyes, and I had a strong urge to take her in my arms and kiss her until we both had to come up for air. But she stood waiting for my reply.

“L-Look, I don’t know if I should be skirting trouble. Being caught out here in the woods with you wouldn’t look good for either of us.”

She stepped a little closer, reached out as though she would touch me, but withdrew her hand. “Believe me; they would know it was my idea. And with my father gone, they don’t pay as much attention to my whereabouts. So, is it a deal?”

She held out her sack of coin with one hand, and the other for me to shake. I took the gold and shook her hand. Her skin was warm and soft. Damn shame it would be to mar those pretty fingers.

Six-Pack-Stud-A-Thon Blog hop!

SIX-PACK-STUD-A-THON BLOG HOP!

I decided to join in with this blog hop as there are so many sexy bodies out there, that they just need to be talked about!!

One cover that blew me away was Raven McAllan's Will You Dance Miss Laurence. Check out this cover, but check out the guy!

Dancing lessons were supposed to be fun, but who ever heard of attending them without your knickers on?
Shibari Master Ryan is intrigued by Ava, so when his cousin asks a favor, he is only too happy to help Ava out of the rut she says she is in.
Will her past allow her to enjoy his bondage, or will true submission prove a step too much?

Now is this guy hot or what?! The first time I saw this cover, it blew me way, for many different reasons, but it was the cover model for Ryan that  made me need to read this. And it doesn't stop at the cover, Ryans character is fantastic and sexy as hell!

He's a shibari master (tying someone up in a rather atrisitc and sensual way, it's a style of Japanese BDSM/bondage), and Ava's friend sends her to Ryan for a 'dance' lesson, which turns out to be so much more. The whole story is great and it's something you can't put down once you pick it up. But Ryan is so sexy, I think Ms McAllan wrote him very well. The way he speaks, the descriptions of his ropes and bindings, the way he takes his time and cares for Ava's needs...well... he's one very good teacher ;)

If you think you'd like to check out Ryan and his sexy hands, please enter the rafflecopter below to win a copy of Will You Dance Miss Laurence, that Raven McAllan has so generously donated today :)
